💼 Special Education Coordinator

💰 $34.43 - $43.26/hr*

*Salary range is contingent upon relatable experience, credentialing/certification, education, and use of a second language in your role (50% of the time).

🎯 Expectations:

  • review and orient service providers regarding TES policies and procedures, including the TES Service Provider Handbook;
  • ensure service providers maintain appropriate utilization levels and accurately complete required procedural, tracking, billing, and timesheet documents in a timely manner;
  • ensure effective teamwork, communication, and collaboration among staff by holding meetings, conducting observations, and providing formal and informal feedback;
  • manage records, including individual student records of progress and provider notes;
  • maintain ongoing compliance in accordance with IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act) and Michigan Administrative Rules for Special Education (MARSE)
  • interact with parents and advocates of students with disabilities for the purpose of defining and implementing services addressing the unique needs of each qualifying student
  • collaborate with District personnel and peers for the purpose of implementing and maintaining services and programs. 
  • coordinate program components, support needs and materials for the purpose of delivering services that conform to established guidelines. 
  • participate in personnel functions (e.g. recruitment, hiring, evaluations, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining adequate staffing, matching staff to student needs and ensuring that objectives of special education programs. 
  • prepare written documents for the purpose of responding to inquiries, conveying information, or memorializing meetings. 
  • supervise personnel (TES and District) for the purpose of assuring the development and implementation of services based on student needs.


Minimum Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Special Education required
  • A valid Michigan Special Education teaching credential
  • 3-5 years providing direct services to clients as a Special Education Teacher
  • 1-3 years of administrative/supervisory/compliance experience
  • hold appropriate automobile insurance with limits that allow driving a personal vehicle for work (25/50k liability coverage)
  • clear a current background check (FBI & Ichat)
