Description:

The West Chicago Greenhouse has multiple internal customers and many different functions. These include breeding and product management trials, clean stock maintenance, and growing products for marketing events and The Gardens at Ball. The Project Planner reports to the Greenhouse Manager and works closely with our internal customers. Ensuring all projects are planned and passed on to the production team for execution.

Responsibilities:

Project Planning

• Receive and assess all project requests for approval.
• Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and timelines.
• Develop and maintain a standard project request format.
• Support customers with scheduling domestic and international shipping

Communication

• Serve as main point of contact for internal customers.
• Facilitate meetings and communication with internal customers.
• Provide regular updates to management and clients.

Internal Customer Management

• Maintain up to date internal customer contact list.
• Hold yearly review and upcoming project meetings.
• Maintain strong working relationships with internal customers.

• Minimum associate degree: Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Proficient in PowerPoint, Excel, Microsoft Office and Smartsheet, Bartender software experience preferred.
• Great communication skills.
• Excellent Time Management skills.
• Establishes clear responsibilities and processes when scheduling projects.
• Capability to plan and prioritize objectives to meet commitments aligned with organizational goals.
• Courage - Faces difficult issues and supports others who do the same.
• Plans and Aligns - Breaks down objectives into appropriate initiatives and actions.
• Balances stakeholders - Understands internal and external stakeholder requirements, expectations, and needs.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to Lift/Carry 30 lbs 50% of the day
• Ability to push/pull 50 lbs 15% of the day
• Ability to sit/stand 80% of the day
• Ability to kneel/bend 25% of the day
• Ability to reach 20% of the day
• Ability to climb/balance 10% of the day
• Ability to use hands/fingers 90% of the day
• Ability to work in hot greenhouse and hot outdoor environmental conditions for 75% of the day.
