Responsibilities •Partner to co-diagnose with our doctors to ensure that each patient is receiving the best care for them
•Select materials and equipment for dental hygiene visits by evaluating patients' oral health
•Complete dental prophylaxis by cleaning deposits and stains from teeth and beneath gum margins
•Detects disease by completing oral cancer screening; feeling and visually examining gums, using probes to locate periodontal disease and to assess levels of recession, and exposing and developing radiographic studies
•Arrests dental decay by applying fluorides and other cavity-preventing agents
•Desire to embrace preventive patient-centered care
•Team-focused with excellent interpersonal skills
•Perform all hygiene clinical procedures including prophy, periodontal maintenance, scaling and root planing, sealants, and fluoride
•Bring an attitude of fun and problem-solving
•Demonstrate compassion and caring
These are the main responsibilities, but there will be other duties as well. All of this is completed in a team environment! Dental Kidds team members are patient and organized so that they smoothly sort out potential obstacles in a timely manner, creating a calm environment for the patients, the team, and yourself!
Qualifications •Current dental hygienist license in Minnesota or Wisconsin and an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in dental hygiene
•Soon to graduate from dental hygiene school
•Experience with children
•Passionate about making a difference in the life of a child
•Likes to have fun and enjoys teamwork
•Solid working knowledge of dental terminology, equipment, and practices
•CPR certified
•Good computer skills
•Excellent communication and people skills
•Attention to detail
•Well-organized and reliable
•Experience working with teams
