A Day In The Life We are seeking a skilled and experienced Data Governance Lead to define and implement a comprehensive Data Governance strategy across The Friedkin Group of companies. This role will be pivotal in fostering best practices and ensuring alignment in critical areas such as Master Data Management, Data Security, Data Quality, Data Retention, and Data Definitions and cataloging. The Data Governance Lead will collaborate closely with business executives, data owners, and stewards to drive data maturity and excellence throughout the organization.
As a Data Governance Lead you will:
- Define and Implement Data Governance Strategy: Develop and execute a robust Data Governance framework aligned with the organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
- Lead Data Governance Initiatives: Drive initiatives related to Master Data Management, Data Security, Data Quality, Data Retention, and Data Definitions and cataloging.
- Establish Best Practices: Establish and promote best practices for data management and governance, ensuring consistency and quality across all data assets.
- Build Data Community: Build and support a strong community of Data Owners and Data Stewards, providing guidance and support to enhance data stewardship capabilities. Provide training and mentorship to Data Stewards and other stakeholders in best practices for data management.
- Collaborate with Business Executives: Partner with business executives to identify, measure, and remediate data quality issues, ensuring data is accurate, reliable and actionable.
- Define Data Metrics and Quality Standards: Work with business stewards to document and define data metrics, quality thresholds, and performance indicators to monitor and improve data quality.
- Ensure Compliance: Coordinate with IT security, compliance, and risk teams to ensure data policies meet regulatory requirements and organizational standards.
What We Need From You - Bachelor's Degree Req and
- 5-7 years Experience in the field or in a related area or possess an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in defining and implementing Data Governance frameworks and strategies across large organizations. (High proficiency)
- Previous experience in Data Governance Implementation as a functional lead or functional project manager (High proficiency)
- Deep knowledge of Master Data Management, Data Security, Data Quality, Data Retention policies, and Data Definitions and cataloging. (High proficiency)
- Previous experience with Ataccama is a plus. Otherwise, experience with tools such as Collibra, Axon, Alation, and OneTrust would be expected. (Medium proficiency)
- Must possess excellent communication skills with the ability to break down complex functional requirements into manageable work breakdown structures. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills. (High proficiency)
- Certified Data Professional CDMP, DGSP, CIPP Upon Hire Preferred and
- Valid Driver's License Required Upon Hire Required
Physical Requirements The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. While performing the duties of the job, the associate is required on a daily basis to analyze and interpret data, communicate, and remain in a stationary position for a significant amount of the work day; and frequently access, input, and retrieve information from the computer and other office productivity devices. The associate is regularly required to move about the office and around the corporate campus. The associate must frequently move up to 10 pounds and occasionally move up to 25 pounds.
Travel Required The associate is occasionally required to travel to other sites, including out-of-state, where applicable, for business.
