Position Title : Commercial Driver Organization : Jewish Family Service of San Diego Department: On The Go Transportation Services Position Type : Half-Time (18.75 - 29.75 hours/week), Non-Exempt Reports To: Transportation Manager Pay Rate: $19.28 - $21.42/hour Total Compensation : In addition to standard pay, compensation for this position includes: Generous employer 401(k) contributions Time Away from Work: Being able to take time away from work is critical in bringing your best self to work. On the Go provides group and individual transportation solutions for older adults to medical and personal appointments, community events, Social & Wellness Centers, shopping centers, organized excursions, and more. Jewish Family Service of San Diego operates many programs requiring drivers within the Aging & Wellness Division.Drivers perform a variety of routed and non-routed transportation services. Responsibilities : Provide safe and timely rides for older adults using excellent customer service Maintain clean agency vehicles, wash as needed Perform daily pre/post vehicle inspections Report any vehicle/rider issues to Transportation Coordinator or Manager immediately Other duties as assigned by the Transportation Manager Skills/Abilities That are a Must-Have: Valid Commercial Drivers license (Class B or C with Passenger Endorsement) High school diploma or equivalent GED 2 years related transportation services to older adults Effective communication skills Paratransit experience preferred Ability to utilize both paper routing information and GPS Ability to calculate daily mileage and record transit activity Ability to operate wheelchair lift equipped agency vehicles Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time Use a computer, keyboard, monitor, printer, smart phone, and GPS Additional Information: Knowledge of the aging process and diversity preferred This position is subject to random drug and alcohol testing in accordance with DOT regulations Retirees encouraged to apply Important Notice: Incomplete submissions will not be considered.
