We have a fantastic opportunity for a
Commerce Writer to play a vital role in our growing Newsroom Team, organising and distributing brilliant affiliates and consumer content to our US portfolio of sites.
In addition to the salary and benefits package available, this role offers an incentive bonus scheme, paid quarterly, and structured around the delivery of annual revenue targets. This scheme has been designed to be both achievable and motivational as you look to craft an engaging consumer and affiliate content strategy.
Reach Plc is the UK's largest commercial news publisher. We're home to more than 130 trusted brands, from national titles like the Mirror, Express, Daily Record and Daily Star, to local brands like MyLondon, BelfastLive and the Manchester Evening News.
Since the start of 2023, we have been building out our US operation, headquartered in New York, and now we are looking to add to our remote teams in California. We've launched three standalone brands in the Mirror US, Express US and the Irish Star, covering news, sport, entertainment, politics and lifestyle - all targeted at US audiences.

Job Description You will deliver high-quality, well-researched and accurate consumer content to agreed deadlines for local audiences, ensuring copy is optimized for affiliates at all times.
You will create engaging, audience-led consumer content, with particular emphasis on money-saving and deals content, delivering high quality articles that save readers money and provide authoritative advice on buying decisions.
You will be working as a part of the wider affiliates team where needed and share best practices on a regular basis, all while finding new ways to promote content off-platform and find new readers.
Shift Patterns & Working Location This is an office based role working from our New York hub, we are therefore open to candidates based in or commutable to New York. Shifts are likely to be daytime only with early shifts starting from 8:00am EST and late shifts finishing at 5:00pm EST. We ask for a level of flexibility in the role as changes may be required around attending or covering events.
Qualifications We are looking for someone with a demonstrable and quantifiable track record of delivering meaningful revenues from commercial affiliate partners, with an understanding of the commercial affiliates landscape. This includes customer trends, retailer dynamics and best practices.
You are proficient in analytical tools to help identify commerce opportunities and track content performance drivers. You'll have first rate editing, writing and subbing skills, and enjoy the test of working to tight deadlines. You're passionate about audience engagement and spotting consumer trends, with a strong understanding of social media and knowledge of the US digital publishing landscape. Experience of working in a digital newsroom and SEO would be beneficial.
Additional Information - 15 days of paid time off on an accrual basis per year, plus statutory holidays and 5 sick days - If you work on a statutory holiday you will receive a day in lieu.
